About the Isuzu D-Max

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.
The D-Max is overall a reliable workhorse. Common issues are with its cracked air-conditioning unit and echoing Bluetooth.
There is also a fault with its weak battery that comes with the vehicle which can cause starting issues.
Another common issue is with the smell that emits from the air-conditioning unit. This has been found in my 2017 model and now in my 2023 model.
What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?
I have now owned two D-Maxes. Overall my experience has been great with second-to-none servicing experience that enables you to hire a new D-Max at no extra cost.
Any faults have been rectified with no issues identified in the service.
How has the purchase and aftercare experience been with your car?
I have always found the purchase to be hassle free and the aftercare at a high standard. I traded in my first D-Max with ease at a high resale value that was an easy transaction. This has made me feel confident purchasing another D-Max.
Are you happy with the price and features of your car?
I am very happy with the price of the D-Max even though it has gone up $20,000 in the last five years.
The only disappointing features is the Bluetooth that echoes during calls, the smell of the air-conditioning unit as well as the fact there are no visor mirrors.
I have however managed to purchase my own through e-bay. I also don’t like the fact the rear air-con can not be adjusted seperate from the front speed and temperature.
What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?
The overall economy of the vehicle is a highlight especially considering the size of the vehicle and the towing capacity. I found that when towing horses I felt no real loss in power and the overall economy was second to none.
What do you think of the technology in your car?
I feel the D-Max lacks in technology however over the years has increased. I do believe your money is in the engine and the vehicle’s towing capacity.
It is a shame the Bluetooth is still of poor quality consider the jump in price and the fact it is something that is used daily
What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?
The D-Max handles extremely well and has a tight turning circle for its size.
The vehicle is very comfortable to drive and handles extremely well over rugged terrain without throwing the driver or passengers around. The seats are fairly spacious and have a pretty good comfort factor.
